"Nessuna intenzione di trasferire la produzione all'estero e avanti tutta sul progetto Fabbrica Italia". Queste, in estrema sintesi, le dichiarazioni rilasciate ieri dall'amministratore delegato della Fiat, Sergio Marchionne, nel corso dell'incontro avvenuto a Roma con il neoministro dello Sviluppo economico, Paolo Romani.
Parola d'ordine: governabilità. "Io non ho mai minacciato di lasciare l'Italia", ha infatti sottolineato Marchionne confermando l'intenzione di voler "lavorare su Fabbrica Italia se ci sono tutte le condizioni". Ossia, in altre parole, se sarà garantita la governabilità delle fabbriche. Commentando i dati sulle immatricolazioni, che a ottobre sfiorano un meno 30%, poi, non si è dichiarato sorpreso e ritiene i risultati in linea con le previsioni dopo il boom degli incentivi.
Voglia di investire. Parole rassicuranti sono giunte anche dal ministro per lo Sviluppo economico, che al termine dell'incontro ha voluto chiarire che il top manager della Fiat non ha sollevato alcuna richiesta d'incentivi al Governo "perché non crede in un mercato dopato. Da parte del Lingotto c'è la voglia di investire e se ci saranno le premesse necessarie inizierà quasi subito".
Termini e Pomigliano. Infine, Romani ha fatto sapere che per Termini Imerese, che chiuderà alla fine del 2011, le manifestazioni d'interesse per la sua riconversione sono salite a sette. Per quanto riguarda lo stabilimento di Pomigliano, destinato alla nuova Panda, invece, Marchionne ha anticipato che le assunzioni per la new company partiranno dall'anno prossimo e che sarà garantita l'occupazione di tutti i dipendenti.
Contestazioni e manifestazioni. Anche oggi a Mirandola, nel Modenese, dove si è recato per ritirare un premio, Sergio Marchionne non ha lesinato dichiarazioni e, in particolare, è ritornato sulla questione di Fabbrica Italia ripetendo che la Fiat intende rafforzare le proprie radici in Italia, purché "tutti i soggetti coinvolti siano disposti a lavorare insieme, nella stessa direzione. Quando dico che l'Italia, per il gruppo Fiat, è un'area in perdita - ha chiarito - non significa che vogliamo andarcene dal Paese, come molti hanno voluto interpretare". Non sono mancate le contestazioni, fuori dal teatro della premiazione, con lanci di monetine e manifestazioni organizzate dalla Fiom, dai centri sociali e da rappresentanti dell'estrema sinistra.

DETROIT -- Chrysler Group posted an operating profit of $239 million in the third quarter and raised its outlook for the balance of the year in anticipation of stronger sales and improved operating performance.
The results, released today, marked the automaker's third straight operating profit. Chrysler's third-quarter net loss was $84 million, down from $172 million in the second quarter. It was Chrysler's smallest quarterly net loss since emerging from bankruptcy 17 months ago.
Revenues rose 5.2 percent to $11 billion during the July-September period.
Chrysler said it benefited from improved product mix and rising unit sales while being hurt by higher costs tied to seasonal plant changeovers.
The automaker is in the midst of launching 16 new or refreshed products over a 16-month period.
Last quarter's $239 million operating profit topped the $172 million average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.
The company now expects to post an operating profit of $700 million for all of 2010, up from a previous forecast of as much as $200 million. Revenues for all of 2010 are expected to total $42 billion, within the range of $40 billion to $45 billion forecast a year ago.
In addition, Chrysler now expects to generate $500 million in positive cash flow this year, compared with negative cash flow of $1 billion previously forecast.
“We are not only living up to our commitments, but we are exceeding our 2010 financial objectives,” Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said in a statement. “Our 2010 accomplishments are just the beginning of building Chrysler into a vibrant and competitive automaker.”
Chrysler has posted $453 million in net losses on revenues of $31 billion during the first three quarters of the year. Most of the net loss is a result of interest expenses -- $899 million through September -- largely on the company's U.S. rescue loans. After exiting bankruptcy on June 10, 2009, under the control of Italy's Fiat S.p.A., Chrysler lost $3.8 billion for the remainder of the year.

Tito Marchionne sabe que Chrysler es una mina de oro que estuvo abandonada y en quiebra, pero que de ahí van a salir beneficios a tope.
Y aún no han debutado todas las novedades que se esperan para los próximos meses, así como los Restyling:

Sergio Marchionne tiene motivos para estar feliz con la marcha de Chrysler. El pentágono estrellado ha comunicado hoy que durante el tercer trimestre del año obtuvo un beneficio operativo de 239 millones de dólares, gracias a un aumento en sus ingresos del 5,2%. La pequeña de las tres grandes de Detroit registró en cualquier caso una pérdida neta de 82 millones de dólares, pero si los comparamos con los 172 millones en rojo del segundo trimestre, está muy claro que la compañía progresa adecuadamente. Incluso mejor de lo esperado. Así como se pensaba que Chrysler cerraría 2010 con unas pérdidas de 1.000 millones de dólares, el grupo estadounidense espera terminar el año con unos beneficios netos de 500 millones.
Según Chrysler, esta importante mejoría se debe a la llegada de carne fresca a su catálogo, gracias a la cual ha mejorado sus ventas un 20% en Estados Unidos. Probablemente la tremenda reorganización sufrida por el grupo también tiene algo que ver, pero en cualquier caso está claro que el producto es clave, y ahora que tiene cerca de media docena de restylings y nuevos lanzamientos a las puertas de los concesionarios (200, Charger, 300C, Town & Country...), el futuro de la compañía parece por fin prometedor..

MILAN (Reuters) -- Italy is backing a plan by luxury carmaker De Tomaso Automobili S.p.A. to take over the Termini Imerese plant that Fiat S.p.A. will close next year, Italy's Minister for Economic Development Paolo Romani said.
Romani told reporters the plan would not change the function of the Sicilian site and would allow current staff to be retained.
"The government had immediately started looking into the Termini Imerese issue and has proposed a reasonable solution that would probably keep the factory in the same area without any layoffs," Romani said.
De Tomaso said in a statement that it was working with the "utmost commitment" to the project to relaunch the plant.
The Italian government said earlier this year it had received several proposal for Termini Imerese, which has about 1,400 workers and which Fiat plans to close in an effort to rationalize production in Italy.

Es una fábrica de cajas de cambios y transmisiones donde Chrysler va a invertir 843 millones de dólares para modernizarla y aumentar la producción, ante el aumento de la demanda de sus modelos en USA-CANADA.
En esa fábrica se construirá con ZF la caja de 8 marchas (la misma que la que usa el Serie 5) automática que se empleará en el Chrysler 300 a mediados de 2.011.

Fiat S.p.A. will unveil details of its investment plan for the historic Mirafiori plant in Turin at a key meeting with union representatives on Friday.
Fiat, Italy's largest industrial group, has vowed to invest 20 billion euros ($27 billion) in car plants in Italy to boost production and improve efficiency in exchange for more labor flexibility.
But the company has yet to communicate how it intends to reform production at its factories, with the exception of the Pomigliano plant, where it is investing 700 million euros after a key agreement with unions.
"Fiat confirms there will be a meeting with unions on Friday at which it will detail its plan to relaunch the Mirafiori plant," a Fiat spokesman said on Wednesday.
The Mirafiori plant employs about 5,500 workers and it is one of Italy's biggest, along with the Melfi plant in southern Italy.
Fiat is also expected to clarify which models it intends to build at the plant, where it currently produces the Fiat Multipla, Punto Classic, Idea, Lancia Musa and Alfa Romeo MiTo.
Union leaders, who had repeatedly asked for the meeting to take place, welcomed the announcement.
"We hope Fiat can sketch an important future development for the Mirafiori plant at Friday's meeting," Giuseppe Farina, FIM CISL union leader, said in a statement.
Fiat is losing money at all its car plants in Italy and analysts say its Fabbrica Italia project to boost efficiency to levels seen at rival European car plants is crucial if it wants to regain competitiveness.
Europe's No. 6 carmaker, which owns 20 percent of U.S.-based Chrysler, surprised analysts last month as it upgraded its 2010 guidance for trading profit to at least 2 billion euros, well above forecasts.
Yet the company faces big challenges because of its reliance on mature markets such as Europe and the United States.
Following a labor deal at the Pomigliano plant, Fiat plans to move production of its new Panda car from Poland to Italy.
